Network salutes attractions, efforts that serve young professionals

Spring 2011

The Network: Young Professionals of the Quad-Cities, will host its first YP Community Impact Award ceremony after the inaugural Young Leaders Symposium on April 12 at the Figge Art Museum, Davenport.

The ceremony will honor the people, businesses, cities and organizations that influence the area’s ability to “attract, retain and engage the next generation.”

The Network, an initiative of the Quad-Cities Chamber of Commerce, has membership of more than 3,000 Iowa and Illinois Quad-City residents in their 20s and 30s.

Awards were based on factors, according to research conducted by Next Generation Consulting, that affect the decisions of young talent when choosing a place to live: vitality, earning, living, social capital, cost of lifestyle, after hours and around town.

“These awards are designed to recognize organizations, cities, businesses, and individuals who are impacting the Quad-City region’s ability to attract, retain and engage the next generation — building a more hip and friendly YP culture,” said Molly Foley, YP Awards committee chair.
